April

I can't believe April is here. I don't know you, but this 2012 is running so fast for me! While I'm writing here, it's thundering and the sky is dark grey - a sure promise of rain.

My current worry is I'm neglecting this poor blog. I opened it 2 years ago as a diary of my crafting life. Although I'm always the same, my professional life has changed. I'm a *real* University professor, I've two classes to teach to and my days are filled with lessons to prepare, and new things to study and students to encourage and follow.

I'm putting all my effort in it, working very hard and feeling so blessed to have such a brilliant and important job. I love it, even if it's time consuming and tiring.

But this means I'm far from the crafty chat, my Etsy shop is closed and my sewing machine has a thin layer of dust on it. I would like to find the secret balance for all of this, but for now I can't see a solution. I'm not saying I'm going to close this little space, but maybe it will become something different. I have to find a way to be openly myself - the crafter and the professor - without too much problems or worries.

Any ideas? How is going your Spring? Take care.

Happy weekend

Everything is so quiet here. I'm working like mad for my University classes. Some recent snapshots made with my iPhone. Have a happy weekend everyone.

A skirt for me

Wiksten tulip skirt

Last week I sewed my first garment. I found a pattern from the adorable and talented Jenny Gordy - I adore her work and her ability to communicate the love for sewing. I loved every step of the making and I'm happy I was able to stay concentrate throughout the whole process. The result is a comfy, girly and "goes well with everything" skirt. Next step? Another Wiksten pattern!

At the chocolate fair

This morning, after a long walk by the sun, we went to a local Chocolate fair. It was great to be surrounded by all this sweetness! Another way to celebrate handmade creations. I hope your Sunday was great as well.

The invisible children

Please take a little time of your day to watch this. It's a strong, emotional and well done short movie. It's about children. It's - above all - the power we have to save them. Let's make it.
